Lille Metropole hosts a European cybersecurity event in partnership with Eurocities and EuraTechnologies

On the 4th and 5th of December, Lille Metropole hosted a “lunch to lunch” event in partnership with Eurocities and EuraTechnologies. This event was an exciting opportunity to bring together various stakeholders, many of which work for cities and regions, to discuss existing actions and strategies, as well as looking forward to future developments in the field of cybersecurity.

Participants had the opportunity to discover and visit EuraTechnologies, a vibrant ecosystem of entrepreneurs, partners and investors who are building tomorrow's european tech champions with a positive and sustainable impact, as well as the Cyber Campus. The Cyber Campus welcomes companies (SMEs), start-ups, government departments, training bodies, students and research players, with the aim of bringing together the region's cyber community and developing synergies between these different players. During these visits, local start-ups presented their innovative projects.

Furthermore, participants visited the DGGN (Direction Générale de la Gendarmerie Nationale – National Police Force Department) to learn more about how the French Military Police tackle cybersecurity challenges on a national scale, as well as the regional CSIRT (Computer Security Incident Response Team) to increase knowledge of the operational and technical aspects of cybersecurity within the context of an attack. The CSIRT is operated by the CITC, which is a digital innovation hub, and a center for expertise, research and development, training and monitoring.

Having already received the International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC - INCYBER) for several years, and having inaugurated recently a Cyber Campus, Lille Metropole is developing its reputation as a center of expertise and knowledge in the realm of cybersecurity throughout Europe.
