Lille Metropole has been promoted “member in the spotlight” by the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) for March 2023.
Longstanding member of ICLEI, Lille Metropole has been awarded for its actions in the framework of sustainability, by becoming the network’s brand new member in the spotlight. Created “to promote the innovative and vital work of their members”, this category highlights the initiative and actions of a different member each month.
Counting more than 125 countries, ICLEI is a global network gathering more than 2500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development. Lille Metropole is depicted here as a “front-runner in mobility”, among its other sustainable development successes in fields including energy, food, agriculture, biodiversity and more !
After a brief presentation of the metropolis, you will discover more about Lille Metropole’s latest Air Energy Territorial Climate Plan for 2021-2026, aiming at achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
