Initiated in 2020 and renewed for the first time in 2022, the European Circular Fashion Trophies propose to highlight innovative companies and projects that contribute to reducing the ecological impact of fashion and the textile industry. The third edition of the competition launched last June and attracted no fewer than 214 entries from France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Last September, 15 finalists were selected. Year after year, the European Awards for Circular Fashion call for mobilization around more virtuous practices, forging cooperative ventures and spotlighting inspiring, committed players who undoubtedly show the way forward. Finalist projects were judged on their ability to:
- reduce environmental impacts over the entire cycle, or even stimulate positive impacts,
- extend the lifespan of products and services for greater sustainability,
- innovate with new business models that reflect a strong sense of social and societal responsibility,
- influence consumption patterns by encouraging behavioral change, awareness-raising, consumer involvement and even the practice of sobriety.
The aim is to reward a wide variety of projects, covering different stages of maturity: from young start-ups still in development to large, innovative companies! In addition to financial prizes, the prizes also included support in the following areas: help with fund-raising, launching a participatory financing campaign, business model support, help with measuring ecological impacts, etc.
The final, held on December 5 at the Lille Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ended with the awarding of four trophies and two special prizes: the “Coup de Coeur Lille Metropole” and the “Coup de Coeur from the Public”.
