Lille Metropole launches a survey on the inhabitants’ mobility in the area
Until 30 April 2025, Lille Metropole is organising a major survey into the travel habits of its residents.
Carried out in collaboration with the neighboring territories of Flandres-Lys and Pévèle-Carembault, the aim of this survey is to provide information for evaluating public policies.
Why this survey?
Every 10 years, Lille Metropole conducts a mobility survey to assess and monitor changes in travel habits and practices among the local population. The most recent survey was carried out in 2016. This data is essential for improving transport infrastructure and services, while meeting the ecological and economic challenges of mobility in the region.
The Cerema-certified Mobility Survey 2024, known as the ‘EMC² from the metropolitan area of Lille Metropole, will provide invaluable information on daily journeys. Thanks to this study, the Metropole will be able to adjust its actions in favour of a more fluid and sustainable mobility.
Who is concerned?
Around 12,500 randomly selected metropolitan inhabitants will be contacted to take part in the survey. These people will be interviewed between November 2024 and April 2025, either:
- Face-to-face with an interviewer (around 9,500 people, including 800 students),
